Season 1 Intern

Virginia Saafi is a student at the University of Southern California (USC) with a dual standing in Narrative Studies for her undergraduate degree and a Master of Arts in Literary Editing and Publishing. She primarily writes creative non-fiction, with an emphasis on memoir, exploring themes such as memory, love, loss, and creativity through artistry/ musicianship. She is also a songwriter. When not writing or studying, she works as an instructor at Little Kitchen Academy, teaching students aged 3 - 18 how to cook. Not only is she deeply moved by the teaching aspect, but also by the experimentation and lessons every day in the kitchen. Virginia is a half-Nigerian, half-Tongan woman who grew up around two vastly different cultures with two vastly different food profiles, which has allowed her to lean into exploring foods from various communities. She is enthusiastic about leveraging all of these intersections and contributing to the development and showcasing of other writers who are equally passionate about food.
